Life Skills: The Art of Listening

The Art of Listening

Here William Ury, who is the world's leading expert on negotiation and mediation and co-founder of Harvard University's programme on negotiation, provides some useful tips on the art of listening.

Ury says that if you want to learn to listen to others, you need to listen to yourself first.  A few moments of quiet will help you to get to this space. If we listen more, it will make a big difference in the world. Turn the age of communication with all the technological devices that are supposed to help us, into a world where we actually the use of our ears and show respect  to others by listening.  By doing this, we can create a listening change reaction (for listening is contagious) and we can transform our world.
